The Navigate curriculum includes two volumes designed to guide individuals toward emotional healing, spiritual growth, and lasting freedom through practical, Christ-centered tools. Created by Randy Brown—an experienced leader with over 30 years in recovery and emotional wellness ministry—this resource empowers people to take ownership of their lives and walk in alignment with God’s purpose.
What sets Navigate apart is its authenticity. These lessons weren’t crafted in a classroom—they were forged in real life. Every principle stems from lived experience: personal struggles, hard-won victories, and decades of walking with others through the darkest and most transformative seasons of life. The result is a curriculum rooted in truth, marked by grace, and saturated with stories that resonate deeply.
At Navigate, we believe healing comes through both the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. If you’re searching for purpose, don’t run from the pain—follow it. That’s often where your calling begins.
Whether used in a recovery setting, discipleship class, small group, or even one-on-one over coffee, Navigate helps people reroute past life’s obstacles—like fear, trauma, grief, and unhealthy patterns—and move forward with clarity, peace, and purpose.
Volumes 1 and 2 include a total of 25 transformational lessons—13 in Volume 1 and 12 in Volume 2—that can be taught on a weekly cycle, making them easy to integrate into ongoing church gatherings or community groups.
Core themes include:

Understanding Relapse and Utilizing the Relapse Response Tool (RRT)
Decades of experience working with individuals battling addiction have revealed that nearly all relapses are preceded by behaviors that fall into three identifiable categories: Secrets, Isolating Behaviors, and Commitment Breaking/Reprioritization. These categories are collectively referred to by the acronym S.I.C. If analyzed and processed effectively, relapses can serve as opportunities for growth rather than signaling the end of recovery. When a relapse occurs, it is essential to extract valuable insights from the experience to prevent future setbacks. The Relapse Response Tool (RRT) helps identify behaviors that may signal an impending relapse. By recognizing these indicators early, individuals can implement "upstream" accountability and support to stay on track. The RRT is also a valuable tool for addressing a “dry relapse”—a state in which a person maintains sobriety but experiences the same emotional and mental patterns typically associated with relapse. By utilizing the RRT, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of their triggers, develop proactive strategies, and build the accountability needed to strengthen their recovery journey and reduce the risk of future relapses. |
ACCOUNTABILITY TOOL: MAP

MAP was created to support men transitioning from Lifeline-Connect who needed continued accountability to stay on track after graduation.
MAP: A Tool for Accountability and Sobriety
While MAP was originally designed as an aftercare tool for men graduating from Lifeline-Connect, it has also proven effective as a sobriety resource for clients seeking non-residential treatment. Many view accountability as something like: “If you feel the impulse to drink, give me a call.” In over 20 years of addiction ministry, I’ve only received two such calls—and one of them was from someone sitting in a liquor store parking lot over 1,000 miles away. The truth is, accountability needs to happen upstream—before we’re caught in the currents of destructive behavior. Imagine floating in the Niagara River, knowing you don’t want to go over the falls. To avoid disaster, you must swim to safety well before reaching the edge. The sooner you act, the better your chances of avoiding destruction. If you wait until you’re just ten feet from the falls, the current will likely be too strong to overcome, no matter how much effort you put in. Similarly, when addiction has been part of your life, the impulse to give in to cravings can overpower your resolve once you’ve drifted too far downstream. Even if you haven’t yet "gone over the falls," the window for effective action has closed. That’s why it’s crucial to have accountability in place to help you make wise decisions while there’s still time to change course. How MAP Works MAP is designed as a goal-setting and navigational tool to help clients chart a course toward their desired goals while avoiding the behaviors that have derailed them in the past. It’s like planning a road trip: if you’re traveling from Illinois to Florida, you’d use a map or GPS to determine the best route and avoid wrong turns or hazards along the way. Similarly, a client working toward recovery and personal goals must anticipate potential obstacles and bypass “wrong exits” that could lead them off course. MAP uses mentoring and accountability to guide clients through life’s challenges and behaviors that could interfere with their progress. Participating in MAP means proactively seeking help to identify areas where you’re likely to get off track and setting up accountability at those critical points. By addressing potential pitfalls early, clients are empowered to stay on course and reach their life goals with confidence. |
